War and Peace

Steph, I'm also impressed with your photos. Strangely(?), I feel more at peace with "war" than "peace." But I think it was Tolstoy who said that the only difference between human freedom and all other forces of nature was that we try to define it by reason. I'm rusty, so I'll abandon that train of thought and say that I hope your little life observations (about the baby, eavesdropping on the metro, etc.) will one day find their way back to the blog. I liked them. One more thing, sorry about my redundant postings before. Let's just hope your second diagnosis was the right one. (I'll only press the button ONCE this time, no matter what.)

Oh, thank you so much for your nice comment!

The "photos" are just colorizes scans negatives, hence the bad quality.

I'll continue posting whatever comes to me, it's just that often I can't think of much that could be of interest to anyone. I see the blog experience more as a "blind" radio broadcast, rather than a personal diary with "read permission to all", so I won't be happy if I post something that only concerns myself.

Anyhow, I enjoy your blog also, although it's probably a little too heavy on the sociopolitical side for me. I am usually overwhelmed with the depth of your (and dystro's) comments, so even if the issue is of interest, I feel a little "intimidated" :-)

By the way, silly question: Are "you" (sissoula) and dystrop. the same person in real life? I saw a rather cryptic note somewhere that sort of suggested something like this...

Trust me, if sth is of interest to you, it’s probably of interest to sb else, even if nobody bothers to say anything about it. I’ve learned that there’s not always a direct correspondence between the number of comments and the level of interest in a blog or any particular post.

Well, you’re not the first to claim to be overwhelmed and intimidated by our blog. I’m not sure what to do about that, except to say that the atmosphere really is intended to be friendly, easy-going, and low-key. Maybe we overdo it on the esotericism or sociopoliticism a bit, but none of it is meant to be taken too seriously.

As for the other matter you mentioned, I’m surprised the suspicion still exists. I’m flattered, actually, that you think I could share a mind and body with Dys, but I assure you, all we really share is a blog (let’s say). I thought my manifesto (and all the chick-flicks I listed) would dispel any doubts, but if you’re still not satisfied, I can tell you a few of the basic differences between us (although you know we follow the Loxias principle regarding revelation/concealment; if I tell you too much, I’ll have to kill you).

1. Dys says he’s your neighbor; you’d have to pan a little further south on the sat photos (but not cross any international waters) to find me.
2. He’s Greek: I just pretend to be.
3. He’s crazy about watches and cigarettes; I’m crazy about cats and print media and, ok, I'll say it, him.
4. (most important difference) He’s got admin; all I’ve got is a souvenir t-shirt.
