V+T II: This time it's personal
Had some more V+T, with G & A this time.
Very cool stuff.
The resume of the evening (for me) was:
- Names don't matter, people do. But sometimes names are useful too (cool, it rhymes!).
- The world is VERY small.
- There's a LOT of good music out there.
- The only interesting issues are the controversial ones.
- It's probably about time this blog went to sleep...
Bon voyage.

I don't suppose you'd care to elaborate on how these little gems were revealed. An anecdote or two?
I think names are always important; the vocabulary has to be sufficient to comprehend or determine our relationships with other people. Strangely, however, I seldom (or never) say a person's name when talking to him or her. It's useful, essential perhaps, only to my own point of reference. I can't imagine calling Marcello Marcello, but without that name, he'd be nothing to me at all.
But I like it when people call me by my name(s).
P.S. I have a friend who says that 11:38 is something of a magic time (and number), and I think it's true -- once you become aware of it, you notice it everywhere. Nice post, from beginning to... time stamp.

1138? Interesting.
Actually I did a little google search, and there is an IRS form 1138 , which is for the "Extension of Time for Payment of Taxes..."!
Weiiird?!
I've had enough of tax forms, thanks. (2555EZ is my fav.) Now that you mention it, there used to be a relevant eleventhirtyeight website (made by my friend), but I googled for it too and came up empty handed. That doesn't bode well for the theory either, I guess.

Hmm, could it be that you are 10 mins off?
No, I just pasted the wrong link...
THX-1138 is George Lukas' directorial debut and an underated sci-fi film for one. Why don't you try your local video rental store?
On the other hand, "[T]here are 1,138 federal protections and benefits for married couples. Same sex couples are denied these 1,138 protections and benefits regardless of the length of their relationships", says Equality Forum.
Take your pick.
Not to mention:
John 11:38
Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it.
What kind of sausage party is this?! It was specifically a time, not just a number. Your tangents are interesting, but they're still tangents.
No it wasn't. You said it was a number too!
The original tangent was mine, in any case. You just wait. One day, I'll do sth so impeccable that even you won't be able to poke a hole in it.
(oops)
